reddit에 "what is 'cool' about being a technical writer?"라는 질문이 올라왔습니다. 뭐 좋은 답변도 많은데 가슴 아픈 이야기도 많네요.
- The fact that I've been doing this for three years and still nobody from my family and most of my friends don't understand what I'm doing.
- My mom thought I've been working at a call center for the past 8 years, regardless of all my job and career changes I've told her about.

애플 개발자 페이지 디자인 가이드라인에 추가된 Writing 관련 문서입니다. 문서 설명 중 "언어라는 렌즈를 통해 디자인하면 사람들이 앱이나 게임을 최대한 활용할 수 있습니다(designing through the lens of language will help people get the most from your app or game)"이라는 표현이 맘에 드네요.

Stripe에서 GPT-4를 문서와 어떻게 통합하고 있는지 소개하는 자료가 공개됐습니다. 문서 작성보다는 작성된 문서를 GPT-4가 이해하고 정리해서 사용자 질의에 적절한 문서 또는 단락을 찾아주는 도구로 사용하고 있는 듯합니다. 조만간 좀 더 자세한 이야기도 들어볼 수 있겠죠.

어제 GitHub Copilot X 발표 때문에 페북에 이런저런 이야기가 올라왔는데요. 중간에 문서화 관련된 이야기도 있었던 것을 보지 못했네요. React, Azure, MDN 문서에 적용해서 테스트를 진행하고 있다고 합니다. 코드에서 문서 자체를 생성하는 것은 아니고 거대한 문서 더미에서 사용자가 원하는 답변과 해당하는 문서를 찾아주는 역할을 담당합니다.

깃헙 저장소에 있는 마크다운 문서를 GPT-4에서 학습시키고 바로 질의를 할 수 있는 도구가 나왔습니다. 아마도 비슷한 도구가 이런저런 형식으로 나올 것 같긴 합니다만. 개발자 트윗으로는 이틀 만에 사용자가 10만 명으로 늘어났다고 합니다.
공개 저장소는 일부 제한된 기능을 무료로 사용할 수 있고 추가 기능이나 비공개 저장소에서 활용하는 경우에는 유료로 서비스를 제공합니다.
