오늘은 AI 도입 이후 생겨나는 이슈들을 들고 왔습니다. AI로 인한 가장 큰 영향은 팀이 해체되거나 축소되는 것이었습니다. 특히 안정적이고 점점 팀 규모가 늘어나던 몇몇 기업에서 테크니컬 라이팅 팀 자체를 축소하거나 해체하는 일이 생기면서 지난 몇 달간 큰 이슈가 되었죠. 이제는 이런 조치가 다시 평가받고 있습니다. 일부에서는 팀을 다시 조직하기도 하고, 채용을 진행하기도 하는 일이 생기고 있습니다.

AI가 효과적으로 일을 처리하는지도 잘 모르겠고, AI 사용으로 인한 비용이 늘어나면서 다시 채용을 하기도 한다는 이야기가 있습니다. 6월 소식에서 전해드린 토스처럼 오랜 기간 준비하고 전사적으로 체계적인 시스템을 만드는 곳이라면 AI 도입이 어느 정도 성공을 거둘 수 있지만, 그냥 프롬프트만으로 모든 것을 해결할 수 있는 것은 아닙니다. 때문에 AI가 모든 것을 해결해줄거라 믿고 인력을 감축한 곳에서는 부작용이 있을 수 밖에 없습니다.
AI 때문에 단순 작업은 줄어들었지만 품질에 대한 기대는 높아지면서 테크니컬 라이터의 업무 부담은 늘어난다는 주장도 있습니다.
...AI has helped the engineers, but not the tech writers. Now engineers don’t have to author tickets, test summary reports, design documents, etc. themselves, and instead of me editing their original work, I now get to run their AI-writeups through a second AI agent, and then proof that output before publication. My workload has actually increased with AI implementation. My primary audience being humans with critical thinking skills really dents the armor...
I hate my job now that I'm being told to use AI

...Could things be better? Could we innovate or use the tools to automate the boring repetitive stuff like checking layout against the style guide? No. All of it. AI does work now; all I do is make the prompt go.
How soul crushing is that? Other than being thankful I'm employed at all, what is the dang point?...
결과물에 대해서도 테크니컬 라이터의 관점에서는 문제가 많은데, 상사들은 AI가 처리한 것이라면 전적으로 신뢰하기 때문에 그냥 넘어간다는 이야기도 있습니다.
...I used to be such a perfectionist with my work that I would never trust AI to rewrite, update, or even clean it up. My boss all of a sudden became an avid fan of AI so when we started implementing Claude, he would always ask, "Have you asked Claude?" as if it's the single source of truth lmao. So I started generating every single SOP, manual, or any type of documentation with AI, hand in garbage work, and say "this was verified by Claude." I quickly learned that no matter what kind of output I give him, so long as I tell him that it's AI-generated, he will instantly think it's perfect and will no longer need edits. At the end of the day, it's not my company. Plus, it now gives me time to apply to other places lol. I'm only here for the paycheck...
