Press the Settings button—cog icon gear on the top right (now marked with a red or orange indicator) next to the DEBUG text box that reads No Configuration. Select flutter. And choose the debug configuration: To create your emulator if it is closed or to run the emulator or device that is now connected.
VD에서 설정 아이콘을 아무리 눌러도 어떻게 하는지 알 수가 없어서 찾아보니 이런 답변이 있더군요.

VD가 아니라 Code에서 설정 버튼을 체크하라는 것이네요. 디버그 아이콘을 클릭하고 실행한 후 설정 버튼을 클릭하면 "No Cofiguration"에서 "Flutter"로 변경됩니다.
하여간 여기까지 와서 디버그를 시작하면 한참 기다려서 화면을 볼 수 있을 겁니다.
